Igniting the Passion

I have been riding all types of horses all of my life, mainly ones that have been difficult in one way or another.

I have competed in all disciplines and been an active member of the West Taieri Pony Club from 8 years old to 25, including gaining my A and H Certificate and being a coach at pony club team events as well as weekly rallies. Early on in my competing life I started to specialise in jumping activities but mainly the discipline of Show Hunter. I prefer the discipline that you need when riding in the Showhunter ring and believe it sets both you and your horse up for a stable jumping career in any discipline as it teaches rhythm and relaxation as well as focusing on jumping technique.

I have gained National Titles in the show hunter arena as well as competing at the prestigious Horse of the Year with success.

Since spending 6 months with Grand Prix dressage rider and Equitation Science trainer

Jody Hartstone, my riding has had a complete overhaul and a flame for riding high level dressage has been ignited. I rode up to level 5 on a borrowed horse (Shooting Star) and competed in the World Dressage Challenge in the senior 11 class in 2017. I then went on to purchase Golden Strike in 2018, and since then dressage has become my main discipline

In 2020 the purchase of Campion KSNZ was made and I now compete him as my main horse in dressage up to PSG and Inter 1, in hope to gain as much knowledge from a school master in hope to transfer all I have learnt, back to Golden Strike, who is my main love.

Dec 2017- Gained my diploma in Equitation Science

July 2014- Gained my A and H certificate, which is the highest achievement in NZPCA

November 2011- Gained my Certificate in Veterinary Nursing

'Since discovering a love for high level dressage I purchased a dressage stallion “Golden Strike” who I am looking at campaigning in both the dressage and jumping circuit
